The Isar is a river that rises in the Austrian Karwendelgebirge at 1160 m and flows into the Danube at Deggendorf.
The Isar lies on its way from Tyrol and through Bavaria about 291 km back.
The only big city on the Isar is Munich.
Further cities in our stage system are Freising, Moosburg, Landshut, Bad Tölz.
The largest and best known tributaries are the Amper in Moosburg and the Loisach in Wolfratshausen.

The historic rafting on the Isar is experiencing a new fresh wind today, as tourism has found new buyers for rafting on the Isar.
