Cycling in Romania
Romania's landscape is diverse - this also awaits us on our cycling routes through Romania.
Through untouched nature, the wild mountain landscapes of the Carpathians, over the hilly Transylvania (German Siebenbürgen) to the huge Danube Delta - it's all there.
It is currently also the most demanding stage of our stage system with more than 4000 meters of altitude (Transfogarasche High Road).
However, Romania is currently still a cycling destination for pioneers and adventurers.
Velo Europe has developed a stage system through Romania, in which many of the historical places are visited. Almost all the stage points on our routes have a train station.
However, a bike trip through Romania should be well planned in detail and except for the Danube route, most of the routes are also very demanding.
