Cycling in the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic in the heart of Europe is still a tourist, unknown cycling country, but like many countries in the east of Europe, we expect an expansion of the cycling network along the rivers or between the stratgic places.
The capital Prague is a historical city with one of the oldest universities in Europe.
The famous Vltava River flows through Prague - north towards Germany/ Dresden and south towards Austria, Linz.
The second largest river, the Berounka, comes from the west, from the famous beer city "Pilsen" and flows into the Vltava near Prague.
The Berounka rises in Pilsen, where the rivers Mies and Radbuza join. The Mies is the river we can follow as an alternative route to Nuremberg
The Radbuza as an orientation for trips to Munich via Furth and Cham.
We can follow the Elbe on our stages upstream in the direction of the Krkonoše Mountains and here we also have the opportunity to turn east a few times in the direction of Poland and Slovakia.
