Stuttgart is the capital and largest city of Baden-Württemberg and lies on the Neckar River.
Stuttgart's cityscape is characterised by hills, partly vineyards, and valleys with green spaces.

The area around Stuttgart / Cannstadt is already settled in prehistoric times. Around 90 A.D. the first settlement on today's Stuttgart city was built, a Roman equestrian fort. With the relocation of the Limes to the east, the village lost its importance, but not its existence. After the Alemanni had invaded ca. 260 AD, the Roman presence disappeared. Stuttgart was founded in the 10th century and the natural conditions of the Stuttgart basin were used (protection on three sides).
In Stuttgart live up-to-date approx. 630,000 EW.

Stuttgart is famous for the Mercedes and Porsche car brands, both of which have opened museums in Stuttgart.
