Velo Europe and Cycling in Basel

Cycling is very popular throughout Switzerland and there is a very well signposted route system on the Internet at Veloland.Ch. There are also some routes from and to Basel.
First we use the location of Basel on the Rhine for the routes along the Rhine downstream to Strasbourg and also to other places on the Rhine.
Parallel to the Rhine runs in some areas of the Rhine sides canal which we can follow. Upstream the Rhine we reach Lake Constance with many options from there.
Arrival by plane or train
The airport of Basel in Mulhausen has no connection with the train to Basel. Shuttle buses line 50 take us to Basel and line 755 to Mulhouse. A transport of the bikes in the buses must be requested.
Basel itself is a traffic junction of the railway and in almost all directions there are good connections in local and long-distance traffic.
