The successful cycle tour depends on various factors but one of the very essentials is the planning of our luggage.

One of our (cyclist) enemies is the weather, but frankly speaking it s not the bad or cold weather, it is about the adequate clothing.

On our stages, routes or holidays with a bicycle we should be prepared for different weather but at the same time try to reduce the weight and space.

There are some practical guidelines from our experienced tour guides but we shall also further develop helpful „luggage-concepts“ with our partners and keep you updated.

For longer Routes thru different climate zones we suggest to send luggage to places where you intend to stay overnight, have an address or via reliable packing stations.
Used Luggage and/or not required Luggage should be sent home.
Waterproof cycle bags are necessary and we even suggest to pack the content again in plastic bags for such cases you have water ingress.
Use mainly light and functional clothing that drys fast and that Clothes can be washed /dryed overnight.
When you are cycling in a group it is always advisable to split the equipment to avoid that all members take the same.  Example one takes the technical repair set, one the map-material, one the medical equipmemt or one any further rain protection like an umbrella etc.

As we try to reduce the weight that we carry we always to suggest to take mini-bottles or tubes, like shampoo, toothpaste etc.

Other equipment is mainly related to place and season when you plan your route. The swimming gear is logically required in summer months plus more in the south, a warm jacket in the cold season, north or when you cross the Alps or other mountains.
